How was Christmas?

So sorry for the long hiatus, there was just so much to do before Christmas: shopping, cleaning, cooking, baking. I promise to be more consistent.
Anyways, how was Christmas? I hope you all enjoyed spending time with family and received/gave some great gifts. I know I had a great time and even received some of the items on my wishlist like Hunters.

I would love to hear about how your Christmas went. Comment below!

Christmastime is Here

"Maybe Christmas, he thought doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas....perhaps....means a little bit more!" -How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss

I've come to the conclusion that one must get into the Christmas mood by watching Christmas movie marathons, drinking bottomless cups of hot cocoa and decorating the tree.

Here is a compilation of my favorite Christmas movies so far:

1) Home Alone- My favorite Christmas movie of all time. Nothing beats the original. Macaulay Culkin was such a cutie in this movie.

2) Elf- Such a funny movie that brings back great memories for me. I especially love the escalator scene and when the little businessman has a fight with Buddy for calling him an elf.

3) How the Grinch Stole Christmas- I know this movie's given nightmares to other kids, but it's never happened to me. There's something about this movie that just makes me so happy.

4) Miracle on 34th Street(remake)- I haven't the seen the original yet, but I thought the remake starring Mara Wilson (from Matilda) was really cute.

5) Love Actually- My favorite of the rom-com blockbusters. The puppy love storyline between Sam and Joanna was so cute! :)

What are some of your favorite holiday movies?

The Holidays I: Dress Your Best

Believe it or not, the holidays are upon us. The days of sipping hot cocoa by the fireplace, watching marathons of Christmas movies (Home Alone anyone?) and best of all spending time with family and friends (although eating (a lot of) good food comes in a very close second). So, to start out the holidays I thought I would begin by discussing holiday dresses. Dresses do not come in petites unless noted, but a smaller size and a little hem could work in most cases.

Very simple; a blank canvas for accessorizing.
Comes in petite S-XL

Leather-Trim Dress
Immediately fell in love with this dress. I love the leather detailing on the collar.

Factory ponte dress in velvet dot

For maybe a dressier affair; very classic silhouette

Factory stretch wool peplum dress
If you haven't noticed, I love red around the holiday season and this is no exception. This dress could be made extra special with accessories.

The decorative neckline on this dress is something unexpected and new.

Which dress do you like? Do you know of any holiday dresses?

My (Outragous) Christmas List

As long as I can remember, I have been creating Christmas wishlists of all the items I can think of. Yes, I know it's a little bit early, but  it's that time of year again. As I've gotten older, I realize that my lists have gradually become more outrageous and expensive. I figure that since it's only a wishlist, I can be as outrageous as I want, you know? Last year I started including pictures of my most favorite items such as riding boots. Let's just say my family didn't let this roll over well. It was the family joke for weeks. ;)
This year I started writing my list pretty early, (I think in September) and it was pretty much an ongoing list on my phone. Now, I must admit, this year I had no restraints. I just about wrote everything I remembered I had liked at one point or another. Now, are you ready? Here you go guys.....
(It's a work in progress)
 Wish list
Corso como "stirrup" riding boots in light brown

Nine West Lavalu Smoking slippers in gold
Hunters gloss rain boots in graphite
Cable knit socks ^^
Jack Rogers Navajo sandals in platinum
Ll bean duck boots 8" in tan and brown

Clothes:
Cable knit sweater-oatmeal, cream or navy(gap)
Vineyard vines shep shirt - lobster, gingham or stripe
Lilly pulitzer Kaleb or Cassie dress
Jcrew Excursion quilted vest-navy, pink or cream
Old navy quilted barn vest-army green, canvas or fuchsia islands
Barbour jacket-waxed cotton
Patagonia Re-tool Snap t fleece-deep berry
Fair isle sweater-h&m
Small gingham shirt in pink or navy
Vineyard vines-Lobster crew neck sweater
Patagonia down vest

Misc.
Vineyard vines gift card
iTunes gift card
Jcrew gift card

When my mom saw the Barbour jacket on the list, she was actually embarrassed.*insert blushing emoji here* But then, I reasoned that it was only my wishlist and by no means did it give anyone an obligation to buy anything from this list and she relented.
Now, there are some things on this list that I am beyond in love with and others that I sorta love. I LOVE the Corso Como Riding boots in luggage and the Jcrew Excursion vests and their more affordable counterpart, the Old Navy vests. I am also in love with the shep shirt, especially in lobster. I mean, how adorable is that?! I know this list might seem like a little much, but it's a wish list, right? It's meant to be crazy. If I receive only one of the items from this list, I'll be elated. It's the thought that counts, right?
